The Profile: Unlike the Vinho Verdes you looked at before, Esteva is a still, dry red wine. It is known for being elegant, fruit-forward, and very accessible, featuring notes of red berries, cedar, and a touch of spice.
The Grapes: It is crafted using traditional Douro grape varieties, primarily Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz (Aragonez), and Tinta Barroca.
The Producer: It is made by Casa Ferreirinha, one of the most historic and prestigious names in the Douro Valley—the very same wine house behind the legendary Barca-Velha.
Serving: It is an incredibly versatile everyday wine. Serve it at room temperature—ideally around 15°C to 17°C (59°F to 62°F)—paired with poultry, pasta dishes, or light cheeses.
